Congratulations to Barbara Case, Vice President at Moors & Cabot Investments, the new author of the financial column for the South Shore Women Web-zine.  Be sure to read her new column!

Allison Q. Outstanding! Sherry Alpert, Principal of Sherry Alpert Corporate Communications, LLC, of Canton, won a prestigious Bell Ringer Award from the Publicity Club of New England for “Product Service Publicity: Consumer Campaign.”  Sherry launched a national public relations campaign on behalf of RR Auction, for the online auction of a  $10.50 check that astronaut Neil Armstrong signed hours before going to the moon.  More than 1,300 media outlets ran the story.  The award recognizes excellence in communications and public relations.  Great job, Sherry!

The Boston Globe recently announced the recent election of Attorney Emily Smith-Lee of Smith Lee LLC to the Sharon School Committee.  Emily hopes to make a difference in the lives of the school children in her community, and we all congratulate her!

In awarding the 2010 President’s Awards to Adam Cupples of Strategis and Patty Funder of LaserLight, outgoing SSWBN President Stacey Shipman recognized Adam “for his tireless support and creativity on the SSWBN marketing materials.  If you ever wondered ‘how’d this get done,’ now you know.”  Adam’s contributions include the development of the website look and several branding campaigns for Network activities, including the Communication Revolution for the Network’s Professional Development Day.

Stacey recognized Patty for serving as Managing Editor for the Network’s monthly newsletter (“Writing is my other business love,” said Patty).  “Patty devoted countless hours to editing and formatting the monthly publication for members and guests.  Her writing skills and publishing experience made it easy for members to tell their stories and make their announcements in clear, effective and professional writing style.”
