“And,” said Mary, “Thank you to Lisa Marie Williams of Lisa Marie’s Boutique
in Marshfield, who solved the ‘wrinkled wedding dress’ problem. I was clueless as to where to go. In a state of heightened panic, an email blast reminded me of Lisa. A quick call, quick trip, and quick turnaround resulted in a perfect dress. Lisa Marie’s shop also had the perfect hairpiece to bling-up the dress. Thank you, Lisa!”

Martha Tassinari of South Shore Healing of Duxbury thanks Victor Moulton of Moulton Cleaning “… for a fabulous job cleaning our carpets! If you need your carpets cleaned, I highly recommend him…”

Veva Johnson of Professional Bookkeeping sent in the following:
“Massachusetts Educational Foundation Inc. would like to thank Steve Certa, Watch-All for his continued support of the Foundation by allowing us to use his training room for our programs, such as the scholarship interviews which took place over a two day period and our August all day strategic planning session. Susan Hammond of scHammond Advisors facilitated
the day’s activity along with several guests who brought their creative minds and thoughts to help share in our new vision. Thanks for your time and talents.

Darlene Calcagno – Cuisine By Darlene & Downtown Women’s Club”

Veva also would like to thank George Boerger, Boerger Law Office for his legal advice and elder law issues in dealing with her Mom. “George made my Mom feel very comfortable and at ease with her decisions. She can now rest at night not worrying about what will happen later in life. As a result I have my husband and myself going to see George for our legal check up as well. Everyone of us in business needs to put legal documents in place no matter how small we think our companies are. You don’t want to be in a panic mode or find out that it is too late so I suggest
to all SSWBN members that you need a Power of Attorney, Homestead Acts, Wills, Healthcare Proxys and more. If you have these documents – more power to you — but they need updating every few years. Get your legal check up now by contacting George or your legal professional today.”

Jane Ford of The Joy Path sends in her appreciation, stating. “I want to tell the world what a fabulous job Victor Moulton of Moulton Cleaning did on my carpets. I had procrastinated on
getting this done for way too long and they were a mess. He accommodated my schedule so that we
wouldn’t have to be home while he was cleaning. I love having business colleagues I can completely trust in my home. Now my carpets look like new. Victor, I promise not to procrastinate and will call you sooner next time.”

Rosemarie Lanchester of RKL Business Associates, and Everything You Wish For would like to thank Laura Willis from Willis Works Communication, for her referral to The Haven for Healing Foundation, which is holding a women’s retreat on October 1st at Camp Kiwanee in Hanson. As a result of her referral, Rosemarie is offering two workshops that day, one at 11 am teaching Emotional Freedom Technique and Muscle Testing, and the other at 12:30 on teaching Self Hypnosis, called “Stop Acting Like a Chicken.”

Laura also developed Rosemarie’s RKL Business Associates business cards which brands her, as they look like a credit card, which are the services she sells in that business.

Patty Funder of LaserLight for Men and Women sends out a big hug to Mike Hertz of SOHO Systems, who despite suffering the loss of his beloved electricity for days following Irene’s windy rant last week, came to the rescue when the company computer fried itself. “I have two jobs that depend on me being able to publish and work through my laptop,” said Patty. “Mike had been all over the place trying to borrow electricity from other sources, and yet he dropped things to get to me, save all my data, and hook me up with not only a beautiful new Dell, but an external drive and all the programming I can handle to keep me in business. What a guy – what awesome customer service!”

And I am sending out a huge thank you to Rod Ott, of Gordon, Mond & Ott for giving me some great legal advice and helping take our business get to the next level. Also, thank you to Kristin Foristall of Sweet K Cookies for making wonderful cookies for my daughter’s graduation party. “Picture this –it’s Fall and the house is looking shabby (and not in a good way), overdue for a paint job. Along comes One Stop Painting & Renovating. Jeff Cohen’s crew did a fabulous job freshening up the outside of the house before the snow flew. The red stain made my house a standout when the snowdrifts were up to the windows. Now that the snow is gone and flowers are beginning to bloom, my house continues to be a standout. Thank you, Jeff and crew for a job well done. ”

From Michael Christopher, Business Developer for MyTech Solutions, Norwell
“I met Lois Wood through the South Shore Women’s Business Network a little over a year ago. MyTech Solutions offers managed Information Technology Services to small and mid-sized companies, and we also wanted to start offering existing and new customers web hosting and website design. I wanted to work with another SSWBN member whom we could trust with our customers’ new and/or existing websites …so we asked three graphic/web designers to meet with Dan and me so we could get to know more about them and take a look at their work. Lois’ presentation was a spot-on winner! She is great to work with. We go to a customer site together, she listens to what they’re looking for in a website, and from there she works her magic! I look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with Lois Wood Graphic Design.”

I hope to see you all soon!

To Kristen Ford-Hernandez of Premiere Pros who visited as well and always checked in to see how I was doing, I’m fortunate to call her my friend. To Rosemarie Lanchester of Everything You Wish For, Michael Christopher of MyTech Solutions, Stacey Shipman, Diane Sargent of South Shore Elder Services, Alison Guido of Almar Builders, Kristin Foristall with Sweet K Cookies, Lois Drukman of Walter May Insurance, Barbara Case of Moors-Cabot Investments, Margerite Salvucci of South Coast Bank, Cheryl Terrill of Comfort Keepers, thank you all for your well wishes, it means more to me than you know. And for everyone else that has reached out to me – you have all made such a huge difference in my recovery and I will never forget your kindness. I am humbled and so grateful to you all. I am so proud to be involved in this wonderful organization.”

Kristin Foristall of Sweet K Cookies sent in a BIG thank you Cathy Follett of Renovisions, Kathleen Keegan of Real Estate Rocks, Lynn Feingold of Songs of the Colonial Days, and Janet LaBerge and Katie Howard of SSWBN for their cookie orders. I truly appreciate your support and am so grateful for the cookie opportunities!!

Rebecca Coletta, Esq. of Hanover earned a big THANK YOU from Patty Funder of LaserLight for Men and Women, for “comforting and expert” legal guidance that Becky has been providing for a personal matter. (“No, she did not have to get me out of jail,” said Patty.) After getting great service and a very good deal, Patty also thanks new SSWBN member Molly Garrity for signing her up as a new customer for Williams Coal & Oil Company.

Hello, members!

In the past few weeks, Premiere Pros has seen a dramatic increase in business as compared to last year. I hope your businesses are all experiencing the same. With our main source of advertising being networking, it speaks volumes as to the importance of organizations like SSWBN. And speaking of such, we have a record number of connections to share this month! Great job!

Jennifer Logue of McCauley Logue Communications submitted a number of thank-yous to network members for recommending her writing/public relations services. First, to Jane Ford of The Joy Path for introducing her to Unity on Cape Cod; to Stacey Shipman of Feel Good Living, for recommending her to Hamill Law Office; to Paula Rowe of Granite Print, for referring her to The Quincy Group; and to Tom Burke of South Shore Savings Bank, for suggesting her to Stars. Jennifer said, “I truly appreciate the faith my fellow network members have shown in me by recommending my services, and I look forward to returning the favor wherever possible!”

Diane Sargent of South Shore Elder Services, Inc. (SSES) would like to send a big Thank You to Jane B. Ford of The Joy Path. Jane has agreed to be the guest speaker at the “Aging is Everyone’s Future” Conference, hosted by South Shore Elder Services, at Lombardo’s in Randolph on May 10, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:30 pm. Jane’s presentation will provide caregivers with the tools they can use to help themselves while caring for a loved one. If you have never heard Jane give a presentation or conduct an educational seminar, come to hear her at this event for an exceptional treat. The conference will also give guests the opportunity to visit a wide variety of information booths that offer services and programs that can support them if they are or will be caring for an elder loved one. It will also provide information to those preparing for retirement.

Diane would also like to thank Kate Frost of Cruise Planners for helping her arrange a cruise to the Western Caribbean for her and her grandchildren. “Kate was very responsive to my needs and budget, and it was a pleasure working with her,” said Diane. “If you are looking to plan a trip I would recommend Kate.” Diane also wants to thank Katie Howard of SSWBN, Janet LaBerge of Dirty Deeds and members of the Board of SSWBN for choosing South Shore Elder Services as one of the agencies the Network will support in its fundraising efforts. SSES is truly grateful for the support.

Stacey Shipman of FeelGoodLiving.com would like to thank the following people:
Alison Schirone, of AC Associates, who recently spoke to a group of health and wellness professionals on the topic of marketing. This is a new community Stacey created and Alison was her first speaker. “The group loved her,” she said. “Thank you!” Stacey recently gave a talk to the Dynamic Divas on the topic of creating strong connections, and she thanks Lois Wood of Lois Wood Graphic Design who acted as her volunteer audience member. With Lois’ support, courage and willingness to do the unexpected (a headstand!) Stacey found that her talk was that much more successful.

In January Stacey attended a SSWBN Lunch-and-Learn conducted by Bernie Heine, Professional Business Coaches, Inc. and she won Bernie’s raffle prize, A Free Business Evaluation. “Bernie spent about 90 minutes reviewing the evaluation results and making suggestions for my improvement. He helped me organize my how-tos into an easily implementable list,” said Stacey. In thanking Bernie for his help, Stacey “definitely recommends” one of Bernie’s evaluations, which he offers as part of his coaching, to anyone who might feel like they need a little help getting/staying on course.

To Kathleen Ogar of Infinite Health and Wellness, who Stacey recognizes as “not only a trusted colleague, but a great friend,” Stacey thanks for the space Kat has offered her for the new health/wellness community she created to meet and network for the past few months!

Kristin Foristall of Sweet K sends in “a big thank you” to Christy Kendrick of Acme Glass for putting her in contact with Mabel’s Kitchen in Plymouth. Mabel’s Kitchen is now supplying Kristin with edible images for Sweet K’s new logo cookie venture. “I am happy to be supporting another local business, and I appreciate Christy’s support in introducing us,” said Kristin.

And from myself: Last month I held a fundraiser for my sister. Thank you to Kristin Foristall of Sweet K and Patty Funder of LaserLight for donating raffle items for our successful evening! Your generosity is sincerely appreciated!

What a great amount of connections. Please keep ‘em coming! I look forward to seeing you all soon.
