A New Year’s Resolution:

Remember the Past and Move Into the Future

It is the beginning of a new year.  The economy is better for everyone who is working and for those whose mortgage has not been foreclosed.

For all of us though, moving forward is what we have to do.  As with other members of the South Shore Women’s Business Network, I and my firm — Gordon, Mond & Ott, P.C. — are here to help.

As one of the first — if not the first male — members of the SSWBN, I have benefitted from my membership and everyone whom I have met.  I used to refer to it as guerilla marketing.

Having practiced law since 1969 there are few things I have not seen but there are a few new situations that I see every year.  What I do know is that not one of us can negotiate the path to a successful business without help.  Coaches, negotiators, bankers, accountants and lawyers are all here to help.  They do cost money but in the end they save much more than they cost.

When planning a new venture it is important to put a plan together.  A plan for a new business must include the costs of starting and running the business.  If you are already in business and want to try something new, then revising your existing plan is always a good idea.  My associates and I work with start-ups as well as ongoing businesses. We would appreciate the opportunity to work with you and your business.
